The Belvoir Cricket & Countryside Trust provides life skill and learning through cricket and a counryside education to disabled children up to 16 years old and under priviledged and mainstream children aged 4 - 11 years through 5 different programmes
Special Needs Schools Programme - This year we reached a total of 343 children thorugh our Kwik Cricket and Table Cricket programmes. We also delivered curriculum caoching and CPD opportunites to their school staff
Cricket & Countryside Days - These days give the schools the opportunity to bring thier pupils to the Belvoir Estate to take part in outdoor learning and sport away from the classroom. Teaching staff are given the skills and knowledge to develop their own PE delivery. This year 1358 children enjoyed the days.
Belvoir Bees - Our 12 and 20 week Kwik Cricket coaching programmes run throughout the summer across venues in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. Children participate in regular after school sport, whilst adults and young people have the opportunity to engage as volunteers in their communities - This year 220 children took part
Teach Cricket Programme - A 3 week cricket programme which runs in rural and small town primary schools. Our qualified coaches develop the children's all round skills and enable the teachers CPD development of their PE curriculum.
Volunteer Programme - Our ongoing Volunteer Programme provides adults and young people with the opportunity to actively contibute to their local community. Over 50 volunteers delivered 771 volunteer hours
Our new Teach Basketball and Basketball Bees programmes contributed to an overall total of 3089 children taking part in our programmes this year
We continue to aspire to grow our chairty, our current new build project will see the re building of the cricket pavilion at Knipton, along with an indoor hall which will ensure we can deliver our programmes all year round, whatever the weather, something we are very keen to do.
