In a year where our usual fundraising events have had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions we have had think of other ways to raise much needed funds for our wonderful village lower school. Following the recent visit from 'Banana Man' and hearing about his epic walks around Bedfordshire, the pupils of Eversholt Lower School were so enthused and inspired by his efforts that they will be doing their own sponsored walk.
On Tuesday 13th July 2021 Evesholt Lower School pupils will be collectively walking 10km around Eversholt public foootpaths and fields to raise funds not just for the school but also for Keech Hospice Care (who in July are running a Sports Summer Smile campaign to get children moving whilst raising money).
:In addition to a Music Room, the school would love to create a sensory garden in the playground to cater for many different purposes. It would be a calm place with scented plants and restful seating area where small group work can take place, or where children can go for quiet and calming time. We would like to include wildlife friendly plants, an exciting area of things to touch and smell with objects and plants that stimulate the senses as well as include an area with outdoor musical instruments. The possibilities are endless and that is what makes this project so exciting.
Keech Hospice Care provides specialist care for adults and children with terminal and life-limiting illnesses from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes as well as vital support for their families and friends. They are themselves finalising their own sensory garden and we felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to share the donations we receive with this amazing charity.
So please press the Donate button above and sponsor the pupils of Eversholt Lower School.
We have been lucky enough to receive amazing support from some wonderful sponsors for this event by sponsoring one of the 3 routes or the Bottlebuddi bags that each child will receive to hold their water bottle while on the walk. Therefore Eversholt Lower School would like to thank:
