Ashmansworth Parochial Church Council

Ashmansworth Parochial Church Council

England

St. James' Church, the parish church of Ashmansworth, is at the heart of the local community, providing an important centre for worship.

St. James’ Church has been a place of worship for over 800 years. The parish of Ashmansworth is in the Diocese of Winchester. Services are held regularly as well as Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals. The church plays an important part of this village community and its clergy give vital pastoral care to the parishioners. The building itself is Grade 1 listed and is of historic importance. The Nave dates back to the 12th Century whilst parts of the building are even older. More recently, the two porch windows were designed by Sir Lawrence Whistler and dedicated to Joy, wife of the celebrated composer Gerald Finzi, and to English composers. The overall annual cost of maintaining this fragile building and its purpose is raised solely through donations and your generosity is much appreciated.
