Ella was born with Nephrotic Syndrone. This is rare illness that saw her needing both kidneys removed when she was a baby and since that time she had to have dialysis. Tragically this in turn cased renal bone disease which left her unable to walk unaided and needing a wheelchair. In 2015 Ella had a kidney transplant and beat the odds by walking for the first time earlier this year. Ella's health has improved dramatically after her transplant but she still requires help and support.
Despite all her mobility problems and disabilities Ella remains a cheerful and smiling little girl. Ella has to be lifted/carried into bed. If we were able to purchase a height adjustable bed for Ella this would give her a real sense of independence and make mornings/evenings easier for the family as a whole.
