150 walkers will join Jonathan Dimbleby as he takes on the 50/50/50 endurance challenge for Dimbleby Cancer Care, taking in some of London’s most famous landmarks, a one-off event to mark the charity’s 50th anniversary year.
Walking through the night, the 50km route starts at St Thomas’ Hospital on the South Bank of the River Thames in the early evening, heading over Westminster Bridge to Trafalgar Square, through the heart of London’s theatreland, past Buckingham Palace to Piccadilly and Knightsbridge, along Oxford Street to the British Museum, through the City, past the Gherkin, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, then heading out to the bright lights of Canary Wharf before crossing the river to Greenwich as dawn breaks, following the river back westward, taking in the South Bank before finishing back at Guy’s Hospital in the shadow of The Shard.
We hope to raise £50,000 towards our £500,000 Care For The Future appeal to ensure the future of vital cancer care services in South East London.
