The Science Festival inspires and encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and understand the world around them.
Edinburgh International Science Festival, founded in 1989, is an educational charity. Our vision is of a world where the wonder and value of science and technology is recognised and celebrated. We are best known for organising Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival– the world’s first celebration of science and technology. We also run Generation Science, a schools outreach programme which tours across Scotland.
Generation Science strives to inspire children to engage with science education and works directly with teachers to improve their capacity to deliver science. We aim to provide free shows to schools in remote regions or in areas of economic disadvantage, to ensure all pupils have equal access to high quality, inspiring science experiences.
