Emmaus Oxford helps people out of homelessness for good. We do that by giving them a safe place whilst they rebuild their lives.
Emmaus Oxford gives homeless people accommodation, support and meaningful work. We run a small community which houses 28 people who have been homeless. We call these people companions. We ask companions to volunteer with us for 35 hours a week. Most choose to work in our social enterprise – we run a store which specialises in selling second-hand furniture and white goods.
Companions live and work in our community for as long as they need to. When they are ready our staff help them to find secure accommodation and employment and continue to offer practical and emotional support after they move out.
