Would you have commuted today? Would you have bought coffee or lunch? We're aiming to get 286 people to donate £3 each today, the equivalent of a cup of coffee or a meal deal, so that we can support each student at Ibba Girls' School in South Sudan for a day.
Ibba Girls' Boarding School provides quality teaching and learning to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world. In a country with the highest levels of illiteracy and maternal mortality and the lowest levels of school enrolment, women are particularly vulnerable and fewer than 1% of girls complete their education. Ibba Girls' School shows that things can change for the better. Help equip and empower these young women for the world of work and leadership in a country which needs our help now more than ever.
Rejoice was unable to read and write when she joined the school in 2014. Five years later she got the highest mark in the state at the end of primary school. Now head girl, Rejoice has taught her family to read and write, and is volunteering in the community to raise awareness of how the new coronavirus is spread.
On behalf of Rejoice and all the students at Ibba Girls' School, thank you for your support.
