Since 1977, Fusion Arts has responded to challenging social circumstances by delivering meaningful and inclusive artistic experiences.
Our work with young people prioritises those in challenging circumstances through projects, such as; Beat This (music production and performance) working with 14-25 years old NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training), and the Story Makers, a multi-arts project - using inspirational objects in local University of Oxford Museum collections, helps young children 7-11 suffering from speech, language and communication need find their voice through creativity. This work with young people is aimed indirectly at breaking the cycle of disadvantage.
Fusion also works with older individuals and is part of the Oxfordshire Creative Dementia Arts Network. Fusion recently ran two pilot programmes (Lonely Roads and Mr MOT funded by Age UK and Cherwell District Council) working to help those suffering from isolation in the community through an intergenerational arts project. Fusion also works with groups suffering isolation and exclusion in different ways such as through the storytelling bridging project Inside Out / Outside In, transporting tales between detainees at Campsfield House immigration removal centre and individuals in the local community.
Fusion is a partnership organisation working on community cohesion, having a positive impact with artists, businesses, cultural organizations, stakeholders and engaging with society.
