We are the only charity in the UK focusing solely on Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST), a rare cancer which starts in the digestive system.

The charity's purpose is to improve treatments and ultimately find a cure for GIST whilst supporting patients & carers and raising awareness of this devastating disease. In addition to funding a variety of research projects we fund & manage; regional patient meetings, a dedicated telephone Help Line, email forum, National Tissue Bank, specialist clinic (PAWS-GIST) and a comprehensive website. GCUK doesn't receive any government funding so is solely reliant on fundraising, grants and donations to finance its activities.
