Great St Mary's Wider Concerns Committee Easter Envelope collection supports two life-saving charities, one in Zimbabwe and the other here in Cambridge:
The Ntunungwe School does remarkable work in Zimbabwe including taking in many orphans. There is an urgent need for another supply of the nutritious e-pap porridge which plays a life-saving role for many children and also greatly helps their learning ability. The area is suffering severely from crop failure caused by global warming, and from high inflation.
Cambridge Aid works with local charities and agencies who refer those in need for emergency funding, to help them through a crisis period and avoid resort to money lenders. Support is wide-ranging including for homeless people, victims of domestic violence, children’s needs, and those suffering from physical or mental health difficulties. Overheads are minimal as the Trustees give their time voluntarily.
