We are raising funds for mental health health drop in services and prevention of suicide. To kick start off the new year, Sarah, her horse Akua and Yume her Husky will be walking throughout January and begins this Boxing day. January hosts the hardest day of the year, dubbed blue Monday, Sarah aims to give people something positive to aim for and invites you to get out walking with her, even if it’s just for a few miles, it will help. If you can't join us to walk then support us through sponsorship and by sharing our story with everyone, as this touches EVERYBODY.
We are fundraising for providing a drop in service across our local area, to support early intervention in Youth, parents and people who are struggling with their mental health. We aim to provide 2 hour drop in services throughout the week in various locations in the Harrogate district and surrounding areas so no-one has to be on their own. These services are currently delivered for FREE and we want to continue to offer this. This is some of the feedback we have had so far from those people accessing the drop in service.
In a few short weeks I feel so different about how to handle myself both from Sarah and the people in the group. I’m really looking forward to where my life will go with guidance from ICL
Wish there were ICL groups all over the world like a honeycomb of connected
You are opening up the world for people whose lives could get smaller and smaller
Absolutely fantastic loved every minute of it – fantastic group – made loads of great friends. Sarah wonderful person. Thank you
Saving lives, an amazing place for people to go to get help when they have no where to turn. Approachable and intuitive. Challenging in the right way, with lots of support. Helped me so much, so thank you. Timing was perfect in quite a difficult time. Struggled for quite a few years and for the first time feel as though I have some way to understand what is going on and how to help myself out through rough times
As a trainee professional I have thoroughly enjoyed and immersed myself in this group
Amazing transformative, full of positive surprises, kind, warm. Inspiring facilitator demonstrating healthful and pro-social behaviour and unconditional positive regard 11 out of 10
If it weren’t not for this safe, honest and caring place for me to speak of my head and heart, I would be in a very different place. You are an oasis in this world that can be so many things. You helped me make sense of the world around me and my heart inside. Thank you is not enough.
I have really enjoyed meeting each week. Talking to different people has helped me to understand I am not on my own. Everyone has their own story to tell, we can all hide behind a smile BUT we need to talk about how we REALLY feel.
It was either pure luck or pure magic but you changed a group of strangers into a group of friends. Your kindness, honesty and love is blindly obviously. Without you (ICL) a lot of people would be lost. Thank you
Thank you for the words, the help to think differently and change the mindset when things seem so dark and heavy. Thank you for the community of new friends and the freedom to be myself without judgement around them and the safety of the group
Thank you for all the advice and friendship you have given over the last 10 weeks. Putting perspective in place in a safe and secure place is really amazing. I really look forward to Wednesday even if it’s hard. Thank you
You are a true inspiration to all of us and so much more is ahead of you in what you are doing. Bif thanks
Thanks for your amazing wisdom
I am very grateful for you, for working towards your dream and bringing it to us all, for all the input and wisdom and inspiration in each session.
Thank you so much for all your help over the last few weeks. You have made a massive difference and everything feels brighter and lighter.
Thank you for giving me the courage to take on my world head on, as well as listening, you are invaluable.
Additional to this we offer 1:1 sessions and community events so people are getting WHAT they need WHEN they need it so no one is ever alone. The people who use our services get mental health and understand the effect it has on them and their families and therefore become a huge support to each other, developing friendships and support networks outside of I Choose Life Foundation.
