It never gets less shocking seeing the results of neglect. Although we are unable to comprehend or understand the how’s and the why’s we are just so grateful that we can be there for dogs like Mila, to show them that human kindness does exist.
Mila, a 3 year old Doberman, was found wandering the streets alone, she must have been so scared.
We do not know what happened to Mila to be found all alone, or what her past was like, but what we can assume from her condition is that it is likely that Mila has had multiple litters in a short period of time. She is very underweight and in need of a great deal of care.
Mila’s ears are cropped and pinned, a cruel, painful and unnecessary practice that is banned here in the UK.
She is also suffering from a serious case of mange (due to it being left untreated) and possibly a secondary skin infection also, which has caused significant hair loss. Her skin is pink and visibly sore all the way from her throat and throughout her entire tummy and inside of her legs.
Despite the extreme discomfort she must be in Mila is already showing us what a friendly, loving girl she is, making friends with the team at the centre, and although she is slightly more worried by men, the team are helping her to build her confidence meeting them.
Mila will need a huge amount of our care, at a huge cost. The exponential increase in the numbers of dogs in desperate need of our help is already unfathomable. Our resources are more stretched than ever. Now, more than ever, we need you. For dogs like Mila and those that will follow.
This Spring could you take on our 60 Miles in May challenge, raise pounds for our pooches, and help us continue to show dogs like Mila what love feels like? Do it for you, do it to make a difference, do it for the dogs! Sign up today for FREE > https://givp.nl/register/17iEAOxm
Alternatively, could you consider making a donation? Even £1, given by many, makes a huge difference to how many dogs we can help. It really will mean the world to all the dogs in our care and those that we are yet to meet that are in need of a second chance.
