London Transport Museum
London Transport Museum is dedicated to conserving London’s transport heritage, offering an understanding of the capital’s past and engaging everyone in debate about its future.
London Transport Museum is one of the world’s leading museums in urban transport. From the humblest ticket to working buses and trains, the Museum’s rich collection of over 450,000 objects is at the heart of a programme of innovative education and engagement activities, a busy public family and schools programme, and the inspiration for special exhibitions.
In 2013 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of London Underground with the triumphant return of steam trains on the world’s oldest underground network. In 2014, we will mark the centenary of the First World War with the restoration of a B-type bus and a major exhibition, Goodbye Piccadilly, telling the stories of the unique contributions made by the London bus in the war effort.
