Nyaka UK helps orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children and the grandmothers who care for them in southwest Uganda.

Nyaka UK aims to support work with orphaned, abandoned, often vulnerable children and the grandmothers who care for them in southwest Uganda. A remote, rural area, it is home to over half a million people, most of whom live in extreme poverty, earning less than £1 a day. There is a reliance on subsistence farming, predominantly undertaken by women, mainly grandmothers, who are the primary carers of many biological and non-biological children. Supporting these vulnerable communities will ensure that they have continued access the education, skills and opportunities they need to grow and prosper.
