To mark Mental Health Awareness week (13-19 May), rock photographer Simon Sarin has opened his archives and is offering - via these pages - exclusive, one-off prints of famous musicians from Debbie Harry to Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher to Professor Green.
Simon has teamed up with Buckinghamshire based charity the Oasis Partnership after they helped him recover from drug and alcohol addictions. To give back, he decided to donate these exclusive and highly collectable photographs to help the charity's fundraising. This auction marks the Oasis Partnership's launch of its brand new OasisArtBox as an extension of the work they do to support people in recovery. OasisArtBox is, in essence, a 'Community in Arts' initiative to foster creativity as a route to wellness amongst diverse social groups, including but not limited to, recovering addicts.
The 25 images are a must-have for rock fans, as Simon is releasing just one print of each. They include artists such as Pete Doherty of the Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Shirley Manson of Garbage, Jake Bugg, Slaves and Royal Blood. All proceeds from the auction will go towards building the OasisArtBox Community.
The photographs are on display in a pop-up gallery in the Chilterns Shopping Centre in High Wycombe - which is also where the charity’s HQ based - from 13 May onwards. The auction closing date is midday on Monday 3 June.
