Rising above the North Cotswold escarpment and commanding views across three counties to the Malvern Hills and Welsh Mountains beyond, Saintbury’s 13th century spire is a much loved landmark. Behind it’s Arts & Crafts oak door is the enchanting legacy of centuries of worship & craftsmanship including work by Arts & Crafts colossi Gimson, Ashbee and Ashbee’s Guild disciple Alec Miller.
Comprehensive theft of roof lead in 2017 has left the structure and its interior furnishings, including its important medieval wall paintings highly vulnerable.
We're raising funds towards restoring the roof as an urgent priority, without your help towards purchasing and installing replacement roofing Saintbury's precious and delicate fabric will remain at risk.
Thank you then very much indeed for considering a gift to the Saintbury appeal.
