Built in 1150 to serve the population of Shrewsbury, this beautiful building reflects a time of medieval prosperity. But now St Mary’s faces an urgent threat. Theft of lead from the vestry roof is placing St Mary's beautiful interior at risk. Victorian pinnacles need to be rebuilt before another falls to the ground. Internationally acclaimed stained-glass panel has been smashed during one of the recent break-ins adding another item to our ongoing conservation needs.
Urgent work is desperately needed to ensure the future of this beautiful church and keep it safe for local community and the visitors from far away! Support St Mary's Church to bring it to its full glory securing it remains open for everyone to enjoy.
