"...the next generation is looking to buy their vegetables at a farmers' market, not a supermarket. They want that taste, that crunch, that flavour. I think they're looking for more intimate musical experiences where you're close enough to taste the quality of the work. Opera can operate on many different levels, for many different metabolisms and on many different social scales and that diversity is a very good thing." Peter Sellars, The Independent, 26/02/2015
The Music Troupe aims to create a repertory of crunchy, bite-sized operas that are tailored for small spaces . The responses to our performances have so far been encouraging and we are giving artists, young and established, opportunities to perform new and exciting work. Our third production, Opera With A Title, is to be performed at the Tête-a-Tête Opera Festival 2015 in Kings Place, London. This has been supported by the RVW Trust, the Golsoncott Foundation and the Gemma Classical Music Trust. If we are to continue to develop, and our productions remain accessible, we will need further assistance. Would you help to get us established? Can you help with our artistic costs?
