There are no treatments for food allergy and the advice of avoiding a food allergen has been the same for centuries. That is not acceptable and today the number of people affected by food allergy is increasing. Developing at any age, food allergy impacts a whole family’s food choices – it is not a lifestyle choice and not food intolerance. The UK has nearly 3 million adults with food allergy and up to 8% of children who have to make daily life and death decisions about their food.
Natasha's Foundation is the only charity in the UK dedicated to funding allergy research, and in particular food allergy. Our research includes enabling the first treatment for food allergy to be made available across the UK through the NHS - this will be life changing for millions. We also campaign for policy change, building on Natasha's Law which will be implemented in October 2021, and we raise awareness of the life-threatening danger of food allergies across all sectors & all ages.
