The Stag is a popular not for profit charity arts venue in Sevenoaks. It is open 364 days a year hosting live shows including two pantomimes, cinema screenings featuring the latest blockbusters and community events. There is a 450 seat theatre, 150 seat studio, café, art wall and multiple meeting rooms throughout the building.
The Stag helps to generate £7.6million for the local economy and welcomes around 300,000 visits per year.
The Covid-19 lockdown meant £250,000 in lost revenue from ticket sales and hires of the building, leaving the organisation at serious risk of never reopening. Ongoing costs despite the closure drained the emergency reserves and a fundraising appeal was launched to save The Stag.
Sevenoaks Town and Sevenoaks District Councils have stepped in with financial support and this has enabled The Stag to reopen and operate for the first few months. The appeal seeks to raise funds to help the organisation continue to operate in the future.
The enormous display of affection for The Stag from the public has been very encouraging with around 1,600 letters of support and we need that support to continue through ticket bookings, visits and donations.

As a child I loved coming to the Stag (although I always remember the Star Wars opening in the 70’s - queued in the rain and still missed out...) I would dearly love my children to enjoy all the wonderful experiences on their doorstep - good luck for the future....
