The Whitley Fund for Nature

South East

The Whitley Fund for Nature is a wildlife conservation charity offering grants & training to grassroots conservationists in developing countries

The Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) supports outstanding conservation leaders through our flagship prizes, the Whitley Awards, worth £35,000 over one year. Winners are presented with their Awards by our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal at an annual Awards Ceremony in London.

Our Award winners are the ‘action heroes’ of the conservation world. They address threats to wildlife by working with local communities to find mutually beneficial solutions to issues such as habitat loss, overexploitation of wild resources & human-wildlife conflict.

Since 1994, we have given out over £13 million in grants, to a network of over 170 winners with projects in 70 different countries, whose work has reached thousands of people across the developing world.
