The Wilberforce Trust provides advice, support and services for people with sight and hearing loss and other disabilities
The Wilberforce Trust is York's Oldest charity. Founded in 1833 in honour of the great philanthropist William Wilberforce, the Trust provides supported living to people with sight loss and other disabilities, it also runs YorSensory, a service designed to help people with sensory loss live independently. We run sensory room sessions for babies, children and adults, host a tinnitus support group, run a Low Vision Clinic and offer support with the latest assistive technology. Everything we do is designed to help people cope with sight or hearing loss in a way that puts them at the centre, enabling them to retain their independence and self-wort.
