Thank you to everyone who has recently donated via this method, we are tryly humbled by your support. We are fully aware that funds are very tight for many people and your donations will be carefully used for the care and wellbeing of the animals which bring so much joy to our community.
On average it costs £165 per day just to maintain the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care, this doesn't include the other associated costs, licences, insurances etc to continue our services to you.
Many of the animals have been rescued from a bad start in life, and we feel it is important that these and all animals are able to live a healthy and happy life free from suffering.
Due to the pandemic and the war in the Ukraine the cost of grain, animal feed and some medication has increased significantly. Fuel and services have also increased but as an organisation focused on providing a service to its community, we feel that it is important to keep the entrance price as low as possible, so we can continue our work educating visitors on how to care for animals, as well as themselves by providing opportunities to improve low to moderate mental health conditions through access to the animals and the grounds. The entrance fee no longer covers the ever-increasing costs of running the farm, but we don’t want to increase that unless we absolutely have too.
Recently Navigo have completed an NHS study with us on the positive effect animals have on adults experiencing mild to moderate mental health conditions, and this supports our evidence that animals and nature have a profound effect on the human brain and body.
The farm provides a safe space for children struggling with mainstream education, using the animals and gardens to teach core skills, care, responsibility, empathy and resilience. We teach about sustainability, nature, caring for the environment and being a better citizen.
We cannot continue to do that without your help.
