Notting Hill Carnival is such an important part of so many people's lives and a key annual celebration and demonstration of inclusion and diversity in the UK. It was founded to bring the local community together during trying times. Notting Hill Carnival is still proudly a community-led event. Its ever-increasing popularity over the last 5 decades means it now attracts over a million visitors over the August Bank Holiday, London’s NHC is second only to Brazil's Rio Carnival in size, and is now one of the globe's largest annual arts events. Notting Hill Carnival is so much more than a party, it is a showcase for the UK's carnival arts and culture, such as costumes, Steelpan and Calypso. In 2020 we introduced the Carnival Arts Fund, where any monies donated by the public will go directly to the Carnival Arts.
Carnival Arts Fund
As the biggest display of Carnival arts in the UK, Notting Hill Carnival is a spectacular event showcasing the best in Mas, Steelpan, Calypso, Brazillian Bands and Sound Systems. However, it is only made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Carnival community. Your donations will be used to support and elevate Carnival Arts, promoting the arts, craft and business of a relatively unsung art form in the UK, extending knowledge and understanding of Caribbean Carnival arts and the history and culture of London’s Notting Hill Carnival.
