The Association of Jamaican Nationals is a Birmingham-based organisation, serving the interests of the Jamaican communities of Birmingham and beyond.
The charity undertakes fund raising activities, holds informative events, supports those in need within the Jamaican community in the West Midlands as well as supporting a charity for abandoned and disabled children in Jamaica. The charity also works to strengthen the links between Jamaicans in UK and Jamaicans with the wider community in the West Midlands.
To promote the benefit of the people from Jamaica and of Jamaican ancestry in the West Midlands and Jamaican nationals in Jamaica by:
a) The advancement of education and training
b) The relief of poverty, sickness and distress
c) The promotion of good health; and
d) The provision of recreational facilities in the interest of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life
To advance in life and relieve needs of young people through:
a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life
b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals
The Association is served by a management committee which is elected annually from its membership. We firmly believe that every Jamaican can and should play a part in the Association for the common good of all.
