Brasenose Chapel originates from 1666 and is a place of quiet reflection, prayer and friendship. It is also the natural location for College gatherings at times of celebration, as well as concerts, lectures and other College events. At many of these services and events our members and visitors give donations to charities external to Brasenose or give money to support the ongoing life of the Chapel.
At least one external charity to Brasenose is nominated each term to receive the majorityof monies raised.
The current Chapel is situated between the Deer Park and New Quad.Chapel is always open for members of College: whatever your religious background, you are welcome here.
A warm and beautiful space, the Chapel is also home to a vibrant Christian community which meets each day for prayer and companionship. It is also a place for pilgrims and tourists to visit and enjoy during the vacationwhen College is open to the public
Donations made during term time will be allocated to each term’s external Chapel charity unless otherwise directed by the Chaplain in the service itself. Donations made outside of term time will usually be allocated to support the ongoing life of the Chapel and associated projects at the discretion of the Chaplain.
