“I was driving one day when the thought came into my mind that if I just drove into a wall, it would be all over. My caring role had taken over my life and I needed a way out." Dan, 40, from Lincoln, cares for his wife who has fibromyalgia and chronic pain and his stepson who is autistic
2 in 3 of us will care for someone in our lifetime whether because of older age, disability or serious illness.
Caring can be incredibly rewarding however, without support, it can also leave people feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and isolated.
Now more than ever our Carers Support Advisers and frontline staff are needed in Lincolnshire to provide information, advice and guidance to carers, online, in their homes and in the community. Our volunteer services such as Telephone Befriending help carers have someone to talk to outside their caring role and feel less alone.
Your gift today will help a carer in Lincolnshire get the support they need to thrive in their role and find the balance in their lives they wish to achieve. It will help them realise they don't have to do it on their own.
You can help dedicated Carers First staff and volunteers to be there when they're needed. Please donate what you can today.
