We are the only national charity supporting people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an incurable, progressive neurological condition.Formed in 1986, we’ve spent the past 30 years, giving support, advice and information to people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), by means of a helpline, email, social media, through publications, website and events, bringing people affected together – especially for young people affected by CMT. Advice also includes all the other myriad of issues that living with a disability brings. We also run awareness campaigns, not just to the general public, but to medical professionals, and also help with funding research where funds allow. CMT is a neuromuscular condition, causing major issues with walking, standing, balance, with hand function, and causes chronic pain and fatigue. It is progressive and incurable.
