Charlotte's Foundation has been created to provide help to those who are recovering from an abusive relationship through support, therapy and guidance
Charlotte's Foundation is an psyhological abuse charity that is dedicated to providing help and support to anyone recovering from psychological abuse. The charity has been created by a survivor for survivors and aims to provide the much needed support, guidance and therapy that is required to rebuild your life and prosper after being in an psychologically abusive relationship. Psychological abuse destroys millions of lives every year, leaving victims with severe mental health conditions and feeling like nobody understands what they have been through. We believe that no-one should have to go through the recovery journey alone. As a survivor lead charity, we know just what emotional abuse is like, the lasting impact it has on your mental health and how hard it can be to be truly 'free'.
Formed in 2020 and based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, our aim is to provide survivors with the tools and support they need in order to recover, reduce their risk of becoming a victim again and to stop the cycle of abuse once and for all!
In addition to our support and therapy services Charlotte's Foundation is committed to furthering the knowledge of emotional abuse through dedicated research. By studying the dynamics, impact and variations of emotional abuse as an independent field of study from physical abuse we hope to increase our understanding in ways that will aid survivors, reduce the risk of future generations becoming victims and support police interventions.
