The Steering Group of the Congleton Big Heart Foundation at Congleton URC have been tasked with the job of redeveloping the downstairs hall of the church building. This space is used by both the church and local community groups throughout the week to hold various community activities. One of these activities is the twice weekly Congleton Big Heart Lunch Club which meets every Wednesday and Friday from 11am to 2pm. This is run by volunteers from the Church in partnership with Congleton Town Council who subsidize the cost of the hot 2 course meal The club offers those who are retired, in need of company, or who find it difficult to cook for themselves an opportunity to meet and socialise with others. Currently the multi access toilet is located at the opposite end of the church building to the kitchen and dining area where the lunch club meets. Reaching this facility in a timely manner can provide somewhat of a challenge for the less mobile members of the group. . Any money raised will go towards the cost of building an easily accessible multi-access toilet next to the kitchen and dining area. This will hopefully not only be of benefit to the current Lunch Club Members but anyone who uses the community space with mobility issues
