We're Dawlish Celebrates Carnival - a group of volunteers who put on a week of events in August in Dawlish each year.

Dawlish Celebrates Carnival is registered as a not for profit, Community Interest Company. It’s directors and committee members are all volunteers – none are paid for any of the time they give in the months leading up to, during or after carnival week. Dawlish Celebrates Carnival’s purpose is to organise and manage the annual, week-long Carnival for all the Dawlish community and surrounding areas. The majority of the events in the week are free to attend and the event provides entertainment and activities for most community groups within the local area. In so doing it attracts thousands of visitors to the town thereby increasing the economic benefit to local businesses such as holiday parks and independent shops. Our programme of events is usually funded by sponsorship, donations and grants. It provides an opportunity to showcase the town and the activities of the diverse community. In 2022 for the first time we had a drag artist which entertained to a packed marquee of all ages! Carnival is always ready to try something new to keep up with the times. As a committee we loan equipment to other local organisation.. Dawlish Celebrates Carnival is an integral part of the local community and at the same time we rely on the goodwill of the community to help marshal and practically support our week of fun.
