Destination Colchester CIC's purpose is to promote and improve Colchester for the benefit of its residents, workers and visitors.

Destination Colchester CIC was incorporated in 2009 and has since led or supported many initiatives to promote and improve Colchester, including the establishment of Colchester in Bloom as an independent community-led organisation; the raising of funding, in collaboration with the Colchester Archaeological Trust, to develop the Roman Circus Centre; and the Painting the Town Gold shop window competition in collaboration with Firstsite to mark the opening of their new building. We also publish leaflets to promote the culture and heritage of Colchester, which are widely distributed. We are currently working on a community-led 'vision' for the area, and are launching a new arts festival in 2019.
