"THANK YOU for every opportunity that you've given me and for believing in me and for giving me so much praise and encouragement. Before I joined EBYA I honestly didn't think that I'd ever have a career in the performing arts because I felt discriminated against and I didn't feel good enough."
When you donate to Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists you are helping to create a pathway for disabled and non disabled young people into the performing arts.
A pathway for people like Dave, who joined us at 11 years old and has now just finished his first professional creative, Arts Council Funded research and development performance project.
People like Josh who has been a member of EBYA for a year and is now moving on to spend 6 months with the Graeae Training Ensemble in London.
People like Becca who has just taken up a place on a degree course at the National School for Circus Arts.
"I attend Diverse City on a Tuesday and it's fantastic. It really boosts my confidence and it's the highlight of my week. "
Your donations enable us to build our unique company to give more disabled and non disabled young people the chance to work and learn together. You also help us to share our approach and to train other companies nationally in integrated practice.
Our 12 talented emerging artists are aged 16-30. They train/rehearse weekly in performance and aerial circus skills and participate in workshops with guest artists. It costs approximately £1500 per year to train an Extraordinary Bodies Young Artist.
We welcome by audition artists with physical or sensory impairments, learning disabilities as well as those who are non-disabled. We have qualified support workers at each session to meet the access needs of all participants, and our audition, rehearsal and performance spaces are fully accessible.
