Children coerced into sex at an early age often suffer post-traumatic stress, mental illness, an inability to form happy relationships and contract sexually transmitted infections. They often can’t complete their schooling and have poverty-stricken, stressful adult lives.
Effervescent – in partnership with a national children’s charity – is developing a ground-breaking way of working through the arts with children and young people, to help lead them from loneliness and vulnerability to safer, happier futures.
Starting with our award-winning methods, developed over ten years, we’ll begin testing new practices. We’re also going to work out how to teach these methods to other organisations so that, through them, we protect more children.
We need just £2,500 to help us pilot this new way of working and create the evidence base to attract larger investment.
* £5 can fund a young person to get to us safely
* £25 helps us to pay a support artist for half a day
* £50 pays for a day's work with a child
Any donation helps us unlock additional investment from funders and investors. With your support we can make our most lonely, unprotected children happier, more confident and less likely to run away from home into the arms of someone manipulative and dangerous.
