Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On May 18 at the iconic York Hall, Bethnal Green I will be fighting in a white collar bout to raise money for the Charlie Watkins Foundation.
Charlie Watkins was only 22 when he took his own life in March 2017. Sadly, Charlie never recovered from the tragic loss of his mother when he was only nine years old. Charlie is one of many examples of young people who suffer from mental health issues today, and the Charlie Watkins Foundation aims to raise funds for trustees of the foundation to better support young people suffering from mental illness problems. Mental health problems can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race or social background. Despite this, however, studies have shown that certain mental illnesses affect men and women differently.
Along with other City based fighters, we are trying to raise £10,000 for the charity.
Those of you that know me well, will no doubt be incredibly excited at the thought of me getting punched in the face. No doubt many of you have thought about doing it yourself more than once. These same people will also know that I'm not particularly aggressive or strong....all things considered, this is a huge challenge, but for an incredible cause that is well worth the time and effort (and hopefully minimal) pain.
It would be great if you could make it to support me on fight night and tickets can be purchased at www.fightingforcharity.com.
Donations big or small are appreciated and can be made here. So please donate even if you can't come see the show!
Thanks in advance for all your support.
Chris
