It is with great sadness we report the death of brother Stephen Smith, a firefighter at Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.
Steve passed away on the 5th December following a short battle with cancer. He had served as a firefighter for 30 years and was due to retire in February.
Steve was a keen golfer and enjoyed karate, but his passion was his family as a loving dad to Olivia,13, Daniel,10, and as husband to Karen. Serving across Essex, most recently at blue watch Chelmsford, he was loved by all and will be desperately missed.
RIP Smithy.
