Being a firefighter is about solidarity and humanitarianism. We do everything we can to help people – it doesn’t matter where they’re from, or where they are.
Firefighters from the UKISAR team have been on the frontline in the wake of the Turkey-Syria earthquakes, searching, locating and rescuing people from the rubble. They've seen first-hand the devastation left behind and the impact on the survivors.
The Fire Brigades Union is raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee to help get aid to the people who desperately need it, including medical treatment, shelter, food and clean water. Make a donation and help us make a difference.

This is the second donation I have made. I am a retired firefighter, I have seen many sad things during my many years in the service, but nothing on this scale. Fire Service is one of the only jobs where we are willing to put our lives on the line for the sake of others. Not many jobs that can say that.
