We bring vulnerable children together with rescued animals to address the links between animal abuse and child abuse to help end the cycle of harm.
Fostering Compassion work with vulnerable children from chaotic backgrounds, experiencing abuse, neglect, trauma, domestic violence, deprivation and childhood diversity. Our activities, promote emotional well-being through the medium of animals encouraging compassionate and empathic behaviour. We aim to reverse the cycle of abuse, turning potentially harmful behaviours into nurturing and compassionate ones helping them see animals as sentient beings. By sharing the stories of rescued animals, this often provides a platform for the children to open up about their own neglect. Children attending our activities experience a sense of belonging, increased self esteem, self confidence and self worth reducing the likelihood of poor life outcomes.
