The Charity was established to assist in the maintenance of the fabric of St Mary’s Church Kingskerswell in the Diocese of Exeter including the Bells and Bell Tower and to preserve and protect this 12c Grade II listed building as a place of Christian Worship, and as a resource in the Community, for the use of residents and visitors of Kingskerswell in Devonshire now and for the future generation.
There is healthy activities program running for the community with activities throughout the year on the parish lawn where we hold a beer festival in the summer with music and games for the children. The Church also has a Parish centre which is used by local groups every week of the year.
Our current focus is to refurbish the church improving the heating, seating with the installation of a toilet to the rear of the church. The bells tower is in need of maintenance and the bell chamber, with plans to creating a viewing platform where the bell ringers a can be seen from inside the church on a mezzanine floor above a refurbished kitchen. To improve the drainage for the kitchen and refurbish the floor after the installation of new seating.
