HANTSAR save lives across Hampshire
Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR), a registered charity, is a Lowland Rescue team providing professionally trained volunteers to assist the police with searches for vulnerable missing people (such as children, the elderly or despondent).
Set up in 2003, HANTSAR is staffed entirely by volunteers, both operational members who carry out the searches and support members who provide back-up with administration and fundraising activities. It has no paid staff.
The charity receives no government or other funding and is dependent on its own fundraising efforts. The charity relies heavily on the generosity of the general public to fund the running costs of its operational role, the cost of development projects and equipment replacement.
But there’s a problem...
We are homeless - currently our equipment is all stored on our vehicles which themselves are stored in the open. As the amount of specialist equipment increases the need to have a space to dry out and manage equipment increases. Our vehicles are also degrading due to dampness and wet weather.
What are we doing about it?
We are launching an exciting project to Help Home HANTSAR.
This will provide the following:
- Covered storage for our vital operational vehicles
- Operational office space
- Drying space for our specialist rescue kit
- Maintenance space for our vehicles and kit
- Classroom space to enhance our training
- Community space - to enrich our services and our local community
We need your help!
- Could you donate to our HHH fund, either as a single donation or a monthly amount?
- Could you spread the word to your work colleagues, friends and family, if they may be in a position to help us?
- Could you run a fundraising event for us?
- Do you have specialist skills in the building and fit-out professions and could help us with the physical work?
