Toby may be one of the fluffiest doggies we’ve seen come to our East Yorkshire centre over the last few months and everyone here has absolutely fallen in love with him! However, when he first arrived, he was a very poorly boy. Unfortunately, his previous owner had been taken ill and hospitalised, meaning Toby’s medical needs could not be met. The family, looking out for Toby's best interests, made the decision that Toby should be rehomed. We knew we had to do everything we can to help this chap get back to being a loving, healthy boy, and give him the best chance at a perfect life from here on out! When Toby first came to our East Yorkshire centre the team saw right away that he had some stiffness when walking and there was visible blood in his urine indicating an infection or bladder stones. We took Toby straight to the wonderful vets @East Yorkshire Vets for x-rays and a check-up where it was discovered that little Toby not only had bladder stones, but he also had stones in his urethra which could cause a blockage if left. The vets thought it was necessary to perform surgery right away. Thankfully the surgery went exceptionally well and Toby is currently recovering with a wonderful foster family until he is ready to get out and restart his life again as a happy and healthy little man. Toby’s care and treatment had huge financial implications for us, at a time when all fundraising in the community is still very limited, but we always do whatever it takes to help dogs like Toby. If you are in a position to donate towards Toby’s care, and the care of all the other dogs who need us, we, and Toby, would be incredibly grateful. Thank you
