The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a registered charity (no. 277810) which provides sailing opportunities to people of all ages who have physical or intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, are from disadvantaged backgrounds or are socially isolated (to name but a few of the situations experienced by our beneficiaries).
Our vision is an inclusive world where we can all contribute and feel valued. Our mission is to give people of mixed abilities and circumstances the freedom to explore their ability, potential and place in the world through inclusive adventures at sea. Since our inception in 1978, we have welcomed over 50,000 people aboard our ships. Our work has been recognised by the United Nations for our outstanding work in the field of disability.
When people are onboard Tenacious, they are free. They are not judged because of a disability, their financial situation or perhaps their upbringing. Everybody starts sailing at the same skill level: beginners. They feel part of a community, a community which sets no limits and has no expectations. They work as part of team in a physically and mentally challenging environment. So when people reach dry land, they have a fresh perspective. They are motivated to explore their ability and potential, and have learned new transferable skills. In fact, in a recent evaluation 85% of people said they are now able to achieve things they did not previously think possible.
Please donate and help ensure we can continue to provide life changing voyages for generations to come.
