Kids in Kathmandu Nepal charity has been set up to provide help and support to orphans and disadvantaged young children in the Kathmandu area.
KIKN was set up as a charity in 2011 to help poor and socially disadvantaged children & young adults in Kathmandu and 97% of all funding goes directly to Nepal.
40% of the Nepalese population live in poverty and 27% of the population have never attended school and therefore we are focused on three main areas:
• sponsoring 40 children through education, including university
• improving basic facilities and infrastructure in 6 schools in the Kathmandu Valley, thus benefitting over 3,500 pupils
• running 6 breakfast clubs where we feed almost 900 children every school day
The benefits have been significant, the overall pupil population in the schools we support have increased between 20 to 40%.
We are passionate about our charity and truly believe in our motto ‘A better life through education’ is making a real difference.
