2025 represents the Bicentenary Year for Lansdown Cricket Club in Bath. Its a huge marker for us and we want to use the celebrations to make a lasting impact on our community.
LCC has been at the heart of Sport and Community inclusion for two centuries. As part of that celebration and to use the occasion to help local charities, we’re setting a challenge to raise Two Hundred Thousand Pounds for our Two Hundred Years of History.
We are partnering with Dorothy House Hospice Care and RUHX (The Official Charity of The Royal United Hospital) as the primary beneficiaries of the campaign. Both of these wonderful charities have touched many, if not all of us in our lives. The work they do in caring for us and our loved ones is immeasurable. We hope that LCC members and the wider community in Bath will share with us our desire to make a difference to the work they do, for us.
Alongside those two great causes, there will be some secondary charities based on youth cricket and sports provision in our City. These will be announced shortly.
The Lansdown Cricket Club 200 for 200 campaign was Launched on May 4th 2024 and we’re targeting the end of 2025 to achieve our goal.
So how are we going to do this and how can you get involved?
Alongside Dorothy House and RUHX, we’re busy planning a schedule of events and activities over the coming 21 months or so. We’ll be promoting these as they come along but there’s loads of fun projects in progress, from Fire Walks, to Family Fun Days and a VERY Big Bike Ride planned for May 2025 with a Lansdown team cycling to every test cricket ground in England.
