It’s a wonderful cause albeit it shameful that so many in this country are struggling to manage to get food.

It’s completely unacceptable that anyone should go hungry, especially in such a wealthy country as the UK.

We wanted to help the local community so we’ve decided to donate the money we would have spent on Christmas cards and postage to our local foodbank. I hope it helps someone to have a better Christmas!

From Malton myself, where local MP has voted against supporting children and their families through a very difficult winter.
Anonymous
No One should go hungry. No child should feel hunger in the UK.
Anonymous
Because I’m appalled by the recent vote on parliament and by our local MPs attitude to child poverty. I wanted to donate to a local charity rather than a larger national one to support people in my community that need help right now.

I would give food to the Malton Food Bank but unable to give actual food. The money I donate is in lieu of the food and allows the Food Bank operators to buy what is needed.

I want to support my hometown and those who are struggling to make ends meet at this time. If I was local, I would deposit a few items at the supermarket, but I no longer live in the UK.

I realise the financial problems for many families at this difficult time and no person/child should go without food. All charities are suffering financially and a donation allows a food bank to buy certain items that may not be donated.

It is important that those not as fortunate as ourselves have the opportunity of having food daily
James
Keep up the good work to support people who need help during these difficult times.

My occupational pension is not reduced as a result of the pandemic, but others are only getting 80% of their income (and many are in more difficult circumstnces). As I am over 70 and being protected by younger people, I am contributing 20% of my income to various useful organisations. A contribution from Sheriff Hutton.
Toni
Living in Ryedale it was important to me to raise money for our smaller local charities. It can be difficult for many at all times of the year but more so now and felt using fitness as the challenge we could help a little to supporting this very special charity.
