Mildmay Mission Hospital Charity works to enhance the physical and therapeutic environment of our UK hospital for patients, staff, and visitors.
We sometimes need to update or replace equipment as it goes out of date, breaks down or wears out and so we need to maintain a fund to purchase equipment on an ad hoc basis as soon as it is needed. As you can imagine, our medical and patient-care equipment gets a huge amount of use, more so than ever now, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has seen our patient numbers increase significantly. If we cannot raise the funds we need, we need to dip into our charitable reserves – something that we should do only as a last resort.
Your donation can help us to fund things that our NHS contracts will not; to purchase essential hospital equipment such as:
- state-of-the-art medical machines
- equipment to fulfil the basic needs of our patients and make them comfortable, such as new hospital beds
- disposables like PPE
- therapeutic and rehabilitation items such as gym and physio equipment.
Although, as an NHS partner, a sizeable proportion of our income for patient care comes from NHS contracts, these payments only cover basic medical treatment and food.
Everything else is supported by donations made by people like you, who want to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people. In fact, Mildmay can only exist because of the wonderful charitable support of our donors, as it has done for over 150 years.
