D B F exists to advance and promote the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of persons who are born without or have lost one or more limbs.

Formed in honour of double amputee Sir Douglas Bader in 1982 by family and friends –honoured in 1976 with a Knighthood for his work on behalf of the disabled. Bader Information supplies advice and information LimbLine. Bader Grants gives financial support to help individuals or groups to achieve personal goals. In an initiative set up on the death of Bader Braves offers children experiences that encourage teamwork and participation and help to instill a sense of self-confidence. Team Bader encourages and enables participation in sport or team/group events so that participants can benefit from the social, physical and creative aspects of their involvement.
