The Haining Charitable Trust

The Haining Charitable Trust

Scotland

A magnificent ‘A’ listed Palladian Mansion House, a tranquil loch, 160 acres of forestry, woodland and parkland, the heart of our town for 500 years.

The Haining Charitable Trust (HCT) was formed in 2010 after the late owner Andrew Nimmo-Smith bequeathed the estate for the benefit of the people. We are dedicated group of community volunteers who manage and run The Haining. At the heart of our plans is the refurbishment of the Category ‘A’ listed Mansion House which is on the Buildings at Risk Register. We need to carry out significant works to repair and stabilise the building, and then to shape its interior and make it fit for the 21st Century for use by people of all ages and abilities. Through environmentally sensitive and high-quality redevelopment, the Haining will be able to meet a huge range of cultural and recreational demands and be a self-sustaining community asset.
