We aim to train the entire hair industry! Suicide is the biggest killer in young people in the UK, 75% of them are men! With our BarberTalk training, we teach hair professionals to RECOGNISE the signs someone may be struggling, ASK those direct questions that give them the permission and opportunity to talk and offload and essentially save lives, LISTEN with empathy and without judgement and finally give them the knowledge to HELP them find the help they need. We don't want to make hair pros counsellors or therapists, we want to bridge the gap between the communities we serve and the resources available. The cost of a death by suicide on the economy is £1.7 million! With that money we could train over 11,000 hair professional, potentially reaching over 2,000,000 people a week! Just think of the impact that could have. We have already saved lives but we have a vision of a world free from suicide, with your help we believe we are one step closer.

Had a great chat with the rep at exeter uni, didn't have time for a hair cut but love the idea as someone who would like to see more mental health support out there.
